Year 5/6 Football Tournament October 2021: the boys and girls of Swallow class had a wonderful day at the football tournament. The girls came away as small-school champions!

Sports Athlete visit October 2021 - The whole school took part in a fitness circuit sponsored event to raise money for equipment and participation in our school. We were visited by Commonwealth Gold medalist Steve Frew who led the event and a whole school assembly focusing on resilience and determination.

BMX Workshop September 2021 - the whole school participated in a growth mindset assembly and watched lots of skills and tricks be performed (including jumper over a line of teachers!). This was followed by a workshop for Swallow Class.

Year5 5 & 6 competed in a very exciting tag rugby tournament. After a very close final match the overall winners were Bullock.

We are very proud of our year 4 team who were awarded Bronze medals in the District virtual netball competition.

We were very successful during lockdown with our virtual competitions and were awarded the 2nd highest number of medals and certificates in the Saffron Walden sports family.

We had a fun-filled day of sport on Thursday with the whole school enjoying either tennis activities or playing Three Tees cricket with sour visiting coaches.

Skipping has been very popular with all of the children this term. They have enjoyed daily skips, competitions, learning new skills and developing their stamina as well as having lots of fun!

Our Scooting for Fun was a big hit with Years 1 and 2!

Squirrel class participated in a Learn to Ride course organised by Uttlesford Sports Partnership. They loved the opportunity to develop their skills and learn some new ones!

Our Sports Ambassadors this year are George, Laura, Noah and Isla. They have attended a virtual training session to find out how they can promote sport at our school and have been busy demonstrating a range of different skills to other bubbles (from a social distance of course!)

We were incredibly proud to have raised a grand total of £2,000 at our recent Race for Life event which was held on the village recreation ground. Our Sports' Ambassadors worked hard to help organise the event, which was attended by parents and children, who all completed the circuit with great enthusiasm.

Our Year 6 children competed in a dogeball tournament at SWCHS last week. All of the teams competed in a first round to determine their groups and then played against the other teams in their group. Radwinter Blue came joint 1st in Group 2 and Radwinter Red finished in 5th place.
We have recently played in two fixtures against St Thomas More. Both matches were very close and our children should be incredibly proud of their performance. We lost our tag rugby game by 23 - 17 points and our football match by 3 goals to 1. We are looking forward to some more fixtures next term, when we hope to do even better!
Despite the inclement weather, Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed their golf tournament on Thursday at Saffron Walden golf club against St Thomas More. The event was a culmination of a series of lessons from golf professional, Sarah Smith and  gave them the opportunity to practise the skills they have learnt over the past few weeks. They were especially pleased to be the winners beating their opponents by 100 points!

Our boys were delighted to come joint first in their group at the recent football tournament, narrowly missing out on the finals on goal difference.

Our girls team played extremely well and thoroughly enjoyed the tournament.

The grils football festival was the ideal opportuntity to learn skills for the football tournament.

Kingfisher girls all enjoyed the football festival where they learnt skills and played in mini matches.

We are incredibly proud to have been awarded the Sportsmark Gold award for the 5th consecutive year. This is a highly prestigous award which reflects our commitment to offering a wide range of sporting opportunities to every child in the school.
